Benefits of Chiropractic Care

The first and most important part of a chiropractic visit is the medical history and examination of the patient. Chiropractors are trained to evaluate and access patients the same way a medical doctor does. Imaging studies, like X-ray and MRI, are occasionally needed. After the medical evaluation, Dr. Simpson does a chiropractic evaluation which includes range of motion, muscle strength testing and palpation of the muscles and joints. The most common findings are spinal joint restrictions and muscle tension and knots.

Improper alignment and restrictions of the vertebrae in your spine and the muscles that surround them can cause pain. Carefully applied pressure, massage and manual manipulation of the joints, relieves pain in these tissues and restores any lost mobility. These treatment can sometimes produce improvement in the first visit.

The medical community has come to accept and recognize chiropractic care as a valid form of treatment for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, and as a conservative treatment option for patients with lower back and neck pain.
